Czechia Presents Itself to Global Investors in Munich. The State, Cities, and Private Developers Unite Under One Roof

Prague, October 5, 2026 – Czechia as a competitive, unified, and promising destination for strategic investments, development, and long-term economic growth. This is how the Czech Republic will present itself this year at the international trade fair for real estate and investment, EXPO REAL in Munich, through a unified national pavilion: the Czechia & Prague National Exposition. This unique platform builds on the previous “Czech Cities & Regions” concept and brings state institutions, cities, and private companies together under one roof.

The trade fair will take place from October 5 to 7, 2026, at the Messe München exhibition center. The national exposition’s three-day program will feature expert presentations, networking events, and panel discussions focused on investments, territorial development, and the future of the real estate market. One of the highlights will be Monday’s discussion on the attractiveness of the Czech Republic in the eyes of foreign investors, attended by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, Minister of Regional Development Zuzana Mrázová, CEO of the State Investment and Development Company Zbyněk Pokorný, BMW Group Vice President for Global Sustainability Glenn Schmidt, and Managing Director and Member of the Executive Board at the real estate and construction company Goldbeck, Rene Kaldenhoven.

The exposition will offer visitors a comprehensive overview of investment opportunities across the Czech Republic, presenting it as a stable country with a predictable environment for implementing new projects. It will also focus on the competitiveness of the Czech economy, support for high-impact investments with higher added value, industrial development, and excellent capacities in the field of science and research. At the same time, it will show visitors the concrete steps the Czech Republic is taking to strengthen its position among the most attractive investment destinations in Central Europe.

“Czechia has a strong industrial tradition, high-quality research, and companies capable of making their mark globally. We must build on this when attracting new investments. Investors make decisions based on specific conditions: they need prepared sites, qualified people, functioning infrastructure, and competitive energy prices. The role of the state is to ensure these conditions and be a partner that helps see the project through to implementation. That is why we are presenting ourselves in Munich alongside local governments and the private sector. We want to attract investments that connect production with development, bring well-paid jobs, and create new opportunities for Czech suppliers. These are the kinds of projects that drive our economy forward and raise the standard of living in the regions,” says First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček.

An equally important topic will be the preparation of territories for new investments and the creation of conditions for their long-term sustainable development. The exposition will present changes aimed at simplifying and accelerating permitting processes, modernizing spatial planning, and coordinating the development of housing, transport infrastructure, education, and other public services in the regions.

“If we want to build more, faster, and with better quality in Czechia, we must simplify permitting procedures and modernize spatial planning. We are therefore taking concrete steps to reduce bureaucracy in order to provide municipalities and investors with clear rules and certainty. This is a key pillar of our Economic Strategy 2.0. Creating a predictable environment that opens doors for high-value-added investments strengthens the competitiveness of our regions and helps build affordable housing and quality infrastructure,” says Minister of Regional Development Zuzana Mrázová.

New Strategic Locations and the Metropolitan Plan

The national exposition is organized by the State Investment and Development Company, which has long been preparing strategic business areas for the arrival of high-impact investments with high added value and promotes a holistic approach to the development of catchment areas. It also emphasizes cooperation between the state, local governments, and the private sector in creating an environment that enables the effective implementation of strategic investments and the development of the affected territories.

“Our goal is to present the Czech Republic as a country that can offer investors not only prime locations and prepared projects but also effective cooperation between the state, municipalities, and the private sector. It is this unified approach that sets us apart and what we want to emphasize in Munich. One such example is our Cheb Strategic Business Park, for which we successfully secured a major investor, Daimler Truck. The investor appreciates having a strong and reliable partner in the State Investment and Development Company. We are applying the same concept of cooperation and proactive approach in our other locations, such as Dolní Lutyně and Lazy,” states Zbyněk Pokorný, CEO of the State Investment and Development Company.

The main co-exhibitor of the exposition is the Capital City of Prague, whose prominent theme in this year’s presentation will be the new Prague Metropolitan Plan, representing a fundamental framework for the future development of the metropolis. The plan introduces clearer and more predictable rules for construction, supports the transformation of brownfields and the creation of new city districts, and creates conditions for the more efficient development of housing, infrastructure, and business activities.

“We are pleased to present Prague at Expo Real this year together with the state as part of a unified national exposition—Prague and the Czech Republic are thus presenting themselves to global investors in unison and with a shared ambition. Our key theme is the new Metropolitan Plan, which paves the way for transforming brownfields and unused areas into fully fledged city districts with housing, services, and job opportunities. We offer investors clear and predictable rules and want to be a reliable partner to those ready to invest responsibly and with a long-term outlook. I believe this trade fair will be a place where we establish concrete partnerships for the future development of the metropolis,” says Bohuslav Svoboda, Mayor of the Capital City of Prague.

“EXPO Real in Munich is a traditional venue where we present our visions and projects to European and global players. This year, we managed to pilot a collaboration where we form the exposition with the state as a national whole, and I believe it is a successful partnership. I am glad that this year we can present a significant milestone in the field of urban development—the newly valid Metropolitan Plan,” adds Petr Hlaváček, Deputy Mayor of the Capital City of Prague.
