The City of Ostrava is seeking an investor for a 3.3-hectare site at the junction of Opavská and Martinovská Streets in the Poruba district, home to VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava and a cluster of research and development institutions. Demand for high-quality, well-connected hotel accommodation in the area is growing steadily, driven by the university and its international partnerships.
The site can be divided by a planned access road into two to four plots. The city is prioritising a project that combines a hotel of at least 150 rooms – with a conference hall, restaurant and underground parking – together with new housing. The maximum footprint of a single building is approximately 2,000 m². A number of mature trees already on site and lining both streets mean investors will not have to wait decades for greenery to establish.
The location is within walking distance of a swimming pool and shopping centre, directly on one of Poruba’s main arterial roads, close to the D1 motorway, and near Ostrava-Svinov railway station – an important connection for future hotel guests.
