Strategic Business Park Lazy

The Lazy Strategic Business Park is a government project being developed in the Moravian-Silesian Region, with the goal of transforming the site of the former Lazy underground mine into a modern industrial site with high added value.

The history of the Lazy site began in 1892, when black coal mining started here – at the time, it was the largest and most modern mine in the region. The symbolic final cart loaded with „black gold” was brought to the surface nearly 130 years later, in 2019. The site’s future will remain tied to industry, but this time in its most advanced form. Mining will be replaced here by clean technologies and modern, high-value-added manufacturing. The Lazy Strategic Business Park is being developed right on the site of the former underground mine. It will breathe new life not only into the site itself but into the entire Karviná region, bringing investment, innovation, and, above all, high-quality, well-paid jobs.

The Lazy Strategic Business Park is not being developed behind closed doors. As we prepare for its launch, we’re working closely with all stakeholders – from local governments to community organizations – to ensure that the project will bring real benefits to the entire region and its residents. An integral part of the entire process is also regular public meetings held to mark important milestones in the planning phase, where we present our plans to local residents and listen to their feedback.

The park is primarily intended for projects with high or medium added value. Typical sectors under consideration include, for example, electronics and optics, semiconductors, clean and autonomous mobility (including batteries and their components), renewable energy technologies, medical and pharmaceutical products, healthcare technologies, and selected segments of the defense industry. The project is unique in its close collaboration between two state companies – SIRS and DIAMO – which combine their expertise in post-mining remediation and the preparation of strategic sites for investors. And it is precisely this proactive preparation that is key to attracting investments of strategic importance.
